Complete set of 12 Art Deco Gero Silver-plated pastry forks in original cassette. Made by Georg Nilsson an apprentice of the famous Georg Jensen.

The Handles are decorated with an Art Deco motif, designed by Georg Nilsson for Gero. Beautiful silver-plated, in a nice condition! The cassette-box is made of carton/paper and has the gero mark on the inside. ‘Gero silver’. The box has lots of age-related wear, but is still solid. See picture please.
Noticed on the back of the handle with 90 (silver content) Gero and GN for (Georg Nilsson).
Gero 1918-1974 is one of the most famous Dutch cutlery manufacturers. In addition, Gero also known for its excellent quality. But what is most often increases the value of these items is the exclusivity. Since the factory made use of many artists, the variety of articles is huge. In addition to classical models, it did met also the demand for industrial designed products.
Gero has released many different models over the years. Often designed by famous Dutch designers and is still very popular with collectors because of the many special models it manufactured.
Georg Nilsson, the designer of this model was the main regular designer for the Gero-factories in Zeist. He was born in 1888 in Denmark. After training in design and silversmithing was Georg first employed by his teacher “Georg Jensen”. In the Early twenties Nilsson was employed by Gero in Copenhagen. However, the Danish factory suffered loss and had to close. Georg Nilsson therefore moved to the Netherlands in Zeist to continue his job.
